Where Curiosity and Character Grow
At Key Biscayne Presbyterian School, our elementary program builds on the joyful foundation of our preschool years, guiding children to become confident, creative, and compassionate learners.

Grounded in Christian values and structured around the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP), KBPS offers a curriculum that nurtures both intellect and heart. Students learn to ask thoughtful questions, seek understanding, and take meaningful action in the world around them.
Language Arts & Literacy

Through the Superkids (Zaner-Bloser) program, children gain fluency, comprehension, and a love for reading and writing. Vocabulary and spelling are taught in context, and writing is woven into daily life — from creative storytelling to reflective journaling. Students learn to express ideas clearly and listen to others with empathy and understanding
Mathematics

Using Progress in Math (Sadlier), students strengthen their conceptual understanding, problem-solving, and numerical fluency. Hands-on manipulatives and real-world applications help children see math as a language for reasoning, design, and discovery — not just memorization.
Science & STEAM

Through inquiry-based lessons and project work, students explore topics such as forces and motion, life cycles, weather, and simple machines. In the STEAM Lab, they design, build, and test ideas, integrating science, technology, engineering, art, and math. This hands-on approach encourages curiosity, resilience, and creative problem-solving — especially for our Kindergarten and early elementary learners.
Social Studies

Students learn about community, geography, history, and cultures near and far. Units often connect to IB transdisciplinary themes and to the topics they are studying in other subjects, helping children see themselves as part of both a local and global community.
